Tyrannosaurus

Jurassic Park Established in Florida!

| Anne Salzberg

If you remember the crazy scientists creating an island preserve for Tyrannosaurus Rex in the 1990’s movie you might see some similarities with Orlando, Florida. There are now 1.3 million alligators in Florida and they are hardly an endangered species. While individuals may not be the size of the largest dinosaurs in the movie, they do manage to successfully prey on human beings – and their dogs. A logical question might be why this Park is being allowed to develop in a major population center like Orlando where Captain Kevin Brotz recently took a picture of a 920 lb specimen. There are certain risks to giving conservationists and scientists a free reign. The gators could perhaps be relocated and used as a deterrent on our southern border.
