IS THE MOVEMENT TO REDUCE CARBON RACIST?

Most of the environmental disasters we face, including excess carbon, are the result of overpopulation.

While many of my students and fellow faculty are enthused about reducing carbon, they don’t acknowledge that carbon could be reduced dramatically by a reduction in population.  However, today it is not acceptable even in our universities to suggest reducing populations because certain segments of the world’s population have many children and asking them to have limits to their reproduction would be considered racist.  In addition, reducing populations will destroy the world’s economies which are based on increasing the number of consumers. Quite a dilemma.  On a positive note – increased populations ultimately result in armed conflict. Armed conflict reduces populations and at the same time expands certain segments of the economy.
