Programs that bring public awareness to the problems of sexual assault are certainly beneficial. Twenty five years of a program like the Special Victims Unit has helped to educate at least two generations to the fact that some people (predominately male) behave inappropriately with regards to sex. In twenty five years all forms of perversion have been exposed – and tracking down the perpetrators has involved all forms of law enforcement including swat teams, very sexy detectives (victims themselves on occasion) and ever improving technology. The appetite for this type of programming apparently can’t be satisfied even if it is repetitious. Advertisers keep signing up because there are millions of eyeballs on the search for justice for the innocent victims. This is a field with a future for writers that think sex and justice.

We do not know if the script writers over a twenty five year period have perfected their craft based on compensation or a sense of social responsibility – or in some cases have they derived sexual pleasure by being able to layout in detail these crimes. These programs have long ago covered the many variations of these types of crime and have exposed every manner of evil males from corporate executives to trades people, drug dealers and entertainment tycoons. The programs have covered all manner of restraint, sexual violence, victim intimidation by people who seem above suspicion. Do not trust your neighbors, your boss, your husband or wife. The sex sickness is everywhere.

Does the producer in searching for scripts have a list of categories they work from? Bondage, underage, public fondlers, drink druggers, rapists – and do the responding script writers specialize in particular types of violation that conforms to their personal interest – or experience?

I think an argument can be made that many of these scripts and programs under the guise of social benefit could be considered pornography. These types of programs also add to the polarization of the genders and society in general. Males are evil, females are victims and many people in positions of authority are perverts.

The positive message is that you should believe the aging detectives and the police force will knock down every door (literally) in the search for justice. Sleep well.
